ELLA BOYLE is a New York based artist

working across photography, sculpture,

and performance. Her practice blends humor,

craft, and narrative to explore femininity,

identity formation, and the emotional labor

embedded in intimacy. Working with handmade

puppets, staged sets, and personal objects,

she creates playful yet critical worlds that

examine how desire, nostalgia, and gender are

constructed. Her mother often brought

laughter into her life by decorating their

house in silver sparkling crowns and rainbows

of color. She even owned a life-size knight

in shining armor to guard the living room.

This experience has seeped its way into Ella's

work. She wants to decorate the world with

her creations. Her art, regardless of medium,

often includes ironic detachment with serious

engagement. Whether she is talking about

gender, technology, capitalism, objectification

- you name it, there will often be pops of

color and maybe even a big yellow rubber duck.

Boyle is currently completing her BFA at

Parsons School of Design and resides in

both NY and CT.
